Biography

WANG Xi received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020, supervised by Prof. HENG Pheng-Ann and Prof. WONG, Tien-Tsin. Previously, she received her M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Technology from Sichuan University in 2016, supervised by Prof. ZHANG Yi. She received her B.Eng. degree in Software Engineering from Southwest University in 2013.

Her research interests cover medical image analysis and deep learning, with special emphasis on weakly supervised learning. Specifically, she is dedicated to designing weakly supervised deep learning algorithms by leveraging coarsely labeled or unlabeled medical data, including gigapixel whole slide image classification, volumetric optical coherence tomography image analysis, and semi-supervised medical image classification, with aim at reducing annotation efforts from the medical expert substantially. She is also interested in exploring robust learning algorithms with noisy medical data.
